
Vishay 48V Resettable eFuse Reference Design
Vishay 48V Resettable eFuse Reference Design can switch loads up to 200A and features a compact double-sided FR4 printed circuit board (PCB) with passive cooling. This electronic fuse (eFuse) was designed to meet the needs of 48V systems, which require the safe connection and disconnection of high current loads to the battery. The eFuse was constructed using a four-layer FR4 PCB with 70μm thick copper for each layer and can be enabled / disabled via the push buttons on the PCB or by an external controller. The power dissipation of the eFuse during continuous operation is only 14W under a 200A load condition. This results in an approximately +65°C temperature rise over the ambient temperature, meaning the PCB does not require any active cooling. Vishay 48V Resettable eFuse Reference Design has overall dimensions of 125mm x 60mm.
